October 4, 1985
"On this the Fourth Day of October in the Year Ninteen Hundred and Eighty Five, we the Officers and Members of the Southern York County Rotary Club, hereby honor with gratitude, Mr. Henry "Hank" Brown Jr., Past District Governor of District 739 and a fellow Rotarian, for all that he has done for our club.
We dedicate this day, our Rotary Sign, that hangs proudly, in front of our new meeting place, to Hank. For he was a driving force to see that the Southern York County Rotary Club became what was an idea to reality. We could say that our club is his child, for he nurtured us, cared for us, and watched us grow.
More important, is that from this day forward, the membership of the Southern York County Rotary Club, should strive to follow Hank's footsteps in the world of Rotary. We should look at Hank and like him, give unselfishly to serve Rotary on the International, District, and Local level.
Also in 1985
We hosted our first Rotary exchange team from South Africa.
Sponsored the first students from our area to attend the District Leadership Conference.
